BA (Hons) Fine Art
Stage 1
I chose the subject area ‘Great Horses and their Great Owners’ finding the bond between human and horse, how their kinship had been written in history and the famous relationships between historical icons and their majestic beasts. I looked at the magnificence of the horse, how proud and complicated a beast it is, with complex anatomy that only truly skilled artists can accomplish. I focused on the great Pantheon friezes and inspiring literary stories of Byron’s 'The Destruction of Sennacherib' to guide my work.
